Patient Transportation

Who Provides Medical Patient Transportation?

Patient Transport by aircraft is sometimes provided for free by volunteer pilot organizations. On the internet you can find web sites which list volunteer pilot organizations who provide patient transportation and fly for the public benefit. Patient Transportation is more commonly provided by private companies who provide their patient transport services to make money.

Non-emergency patient transport services are usually provided by ambulance. Patient transports help thousands of patients every working day with medical needs for transport to access healthcare services. Medical need is determined by a Doctor, Dentist or Midwife. Each patient should be able to reach the hospital in a reasonable time and in reasonable comfort, without detriment to their medical condition. Patient Transport is often booked through a call center or dispatcher. Ground ambulance is the most common form of patient tranport especially for people needing non-emergency patient transportation.
